Borroums' Drug Store and Old Fashioned Soda Fountain in Corinth, Mississippi, is the oldest drug store in the state.
Doctor Andrew Jackson Borroum established the store in 1865 after serving in the 34th Infantry during the Civil War. Doctor Borroum obtained his medical degree from Louisiana Medical School.
Borroum's great-granddaughter, Camille Borroum Mitchell was one of the first two female graduates from the University of Mississippi to graduate with a degree in pharmacy.
Today, the store is still owned by members of Doctor Borroum's family. The store hosts a fabulous collection of Civil War relics as well as antique photos and medicine bottles.
The old fashioned soda fountain dates back to the 1930s.
