Saleman Sample Desk made in England by Glevum with Orig Glass Pieces + Chair

Saleman Sample Desk

This salesman sample desk is made in England by Glevum. It has the original glass pieces, a rectangle glass tray that holds 4 pens laying down, stamped into the glass made in England (9 14"x 2 1/4").There is a round clear glass holder and 2 Bakelite inkwells with ESA signed on the bottom of each. I believe the desk is made of mahogany and oak. It has 3 draws in the top section and the center drawer has a barrol key lock, I do not have the key. That is the only thing missing on the desk. On the top section right hand draw there is a handwritten sticker that has been on there a very long time, so I left it. The desk has 3 pieces, the top piece with 3 draws and the right side base with 3 draws, the left base side has a door with a metal thumb turn latch with one shelf on the inside. The desk is 27 1/2" long, 16 1/2" deep, 22 1/2" tall. The back side of the desk is finished like the front and sides of the desk. The chair is sturdy and the seat is 11 1/2" wide and 11" deep, the seat is 12 1/2" from the floor and the back is 25 1/4 high. For the age of the piece I would say it is in excellent condition, very few flaws, see the pictures for the condition. Glevum was the principal trade name used by a firm established in Gloucester in 1894 by Harry Owen Roberts and his younger brother John Owen Roberts. Roberts Brothers manufactured a vast range of products at their factory in Upton Street, Gloucester. The factory was built in 1902. The age of the piece is a guess for me, I have not found anything like it on the internet. With the ink wells I would guess about the 1907 to the 1920's. If you have any questions please email me. Texas res 8.25 sales tax. Thanks for looking.
